"Sustainability challenges are all around us, globally and locally, and many such as climate change, biodiversity loss and inequality are urgent. Business plays a fundamental role in addressing these challenges and the transitions associated with them. The MSc in Management for Sustainable Business aims to shape proactive, forward-thinking sustainability professionals with a broad vision and specific professional tools and skills who are ready to act on these challenges."

Originally from the UK, Dr Jennifer Goodman is Associate Professor of CSR & Sustainability at Audencia. Jennifer holds a PhD in Management Sciences and has contributed to European and Canadian funded research programmes and projects in Spain, Canada, Finland and France. She has published widely on a variety of sustainability topics and currently heads the CARES research community at Audencia.

1-Year MSc in Management for Sustainable Business

The Program

The MSc in Management for Sustainable Business is the essential training for:

  • Understanding the role of business in addressing complex grand challenges
  • Developing holistic, inclusive and sustainable strategies and business models
  • Gaining insights into innovations in different functional areas of business and how to develop and implement these in practice
  • Engaging with different stakeholders including experts from a variety of sectors including engineering and law
  • Acquiring the technical expertise required for carbon footprint assessment, CSR certification, auditing and reporting

In addition to a broad sustainability vision, functional insights and technical knowledge and skills, the program puts a strong emphasis on personal development and aims to foster a critical, inquisitive and creative spirit. It also includes essential soft skills such as managing stress and eco-anxiety and developing emotional intelligence, adaptability and empathy.

The course takes a learning by doing approach and encourages collaboration. You'll play an active role in your training by learning to problematize issues and situations in context and then moving to take action, contributing to real-world projects, participating in challenging practical case studies, and engaging in ongoing reflection on your personal development.

1-Year MSc in Management for Sustainable Business

Admission criteria

Eligibility requirements for the 1-year MSc programs:

Proficiency in English as demonstrated by one of the following:

TOEFL iBT 84, TOEIC 650, IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 110
English-taught undergraduate program
Native speaker

4-year undergraduate degree in any field

The 2-year MSc or Master in Management program is strongly recommended for applicants with a 3-year undergraduate degree.

Note that you can apply during the last year of your Bachelor’s studies.

It should be noted that this is not an introductory course in sustainability. Candidates should already have an active interest and reasonable knowledge of the topic and should be prepared for courses to progress quickly. Participation, collaboration and proactive inquiry are highly encouraged and valued.
